Taylor is a major and minority partner in companies operating in the US and abroad. He recently acquired a stake in the Australian swimming pool automation firm Pooled Energy.

Pools require ongoing upkeep to remain clean. Automating this process can save time and lower energy costs. Pool automation systems enable pool equipment such as pumps, lighting, and heaters to be controlled remotely through wifi devices. Pool owners can use their smartphones to program different maintenance tasks, removing the requirement for advanced scheduling. Systems can also be automated to detect the pool’s chemical levels and dispense appropriate amounts of chemicals to balance the water’s pH level.

This ensures the water remains comfortably alkaline without excessive chemicals or bulky filter pump systems. Automation systems also allow pool owners to schedule high-consumption equipment to run at off-peak hours. Owners can use the same system to heat the pool shortly before they are ready for a swim. This eliminates the need to keep the pool heated for long periods. These small changes can reduce energy bills by hundreds of dollars.
