IBM has developed a new computer processor that has 50 billion transistors. This processor is believed to be the smallest computer chip in the history of the industry. This chip will minimize the energy resources needed for virtually all tasks on a computer.

According to IBM, this new chip could potentially make a phone’s battery last up to four times longer than it lasts now. It will also speed up the performance of a computer by up to 45 percent. It’s expected the chip will be implemented into laptops and smartphones. Although the chip’s development has been announced, the chip has yet to be released into the market.
